RESOLUTION 688 (1979)1
on a future debate on the situation in the Middle East

The Assembly,

  1. Having taken note of the report of its Political Affairs Committee on the situation in the Mediterranean area (Doc. 4268);
  2. Bearing in mind the very timely contributions made in the past to certain of its debates by several leaders of Mediterranean countries;
  3. Resolves to devote one of its future general policy debates to an examination of the situation in the Middle East, and to invite the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of Egypt and Israel on this occasion.
