Apart from other things the most important feature of the South African Society for Greek Philosophy and the Humanities is the fact that in its Constitution there is an article that recognizes the Greek language as the official language of the Conferences organized by the Society. The Greek language is one of the official languages of the Republic of South Africa.

With the initiative of the IAGP and with the main organizational help of a) The South African Society for Greek Philosophy and the Humanities, b) the Greek Embassy at Pretoria (South Africa) and c) the local Associations of the Greeks at Pretoria and Johannesburg:

AND ITS CONTEMPORARY VALUE”.

As stated above at the Conference Greek was one of the official languages used. There was a group of 20 Greek participants (Greek members of IAGP and Professors of Greek Universities), who spoke in Greek and their papers were translated into English.
