Amorgos, with its beautiful beaches, is ideal for fans of water sports. For basketball fans, there is a gym at Hora, while for football fans there is an appropriate field. The island also attracts many amateur fishermen and diving fans, because it offers an abundance of prey, such as black-fish, lobsters, red snappers, sarguses, mullets and octopuses. The most appropriate fishing area is Katapola and the Egiali bay on the west side of the island, while Nikouria Isle is ideal for harpooning.
