At the remote small tavernas of the island one can taste the local traditional delicacies, such as the famous onion pie with "tyrovolia"(fresh, soft cheese), eggs, onions, anise and beet, or the delicious homemade sausages, "siglinia"(pieces of pork preserved in fat), "louzes" (pork shoulder blade), "plevries" and the famous "kopanisti"(kind of soft and pungent cheese). In Hora, "Filippi" restaurant stands out from the rest, with its distinguishing social surroundings where delicious seafood snacks are served, roasted and cooked dishes and the popular milk-fillet, while at "Catherine's" after a rich meal with fine wine, it is necessary to taste the apple pie, which is the restaurant's specialty. Excellent food is also served at the restored restaurant "Edem" as well as at "1900" which, at midnight, is transformed into a club with loud music and dancing. At the restaurant "Nikos", seafood dishes and all kinds of delicacies are also served. In Agios Sostis, at the taverna "Antonis", delicious home-cooked dishes are served, while "Da Lok" is ideal for those who prefer Italian cuisine.
