The island of Kefalonia offers excellent dining out. Visitors will eat choice meat, fresh fish, Kefalonian pies, "lagoto", and "robola" and drink top quality Kefalonian wine. The candy lovers will eat the best "galaktoboureko" in Greece, and there is excellent lemon or strawberry ice-cream at "Makris" in Lithostroto. Mavroidis in Lixouri, serves delicious ice-cream and aniseed rolls. "Psito" is the best restaurant in town. It combines excellent service with a beautiful garden. One can taste local specialties there, including delicious roast meat and fantastic french fries. "Patsoura's Magirion" is a must. The people from the yachts and those who like home-cooked food come here for "lagoto". In the town, "Kefalos" has very good food and "Maistrato" serves ouzo, tidbits, meatballs and seafood. One should also eat at "Ippokambos" near the beach of Skala. Argostoli has its own bar-restaurants. One should go to "Mythos" for crepe or spaghetti and "Da Cappo", with the roof garden, for the first drink of the night. The neighbouring villages also have very good tavernas and restaurants. In Trouliata there is "Komitas", and in the picturesque fishing island, Katelios, there are many tavernas which serve fresh food and lobster. "Stavento Cafe" is a good meeting place before swimming or going out at night. It has billiards and very good cappuchino.
