Kennedy Junior has been fully confirmed with the discovery of his body inside his wrecked plane in the sea off Martha's Vineyard.The search operations were resumed this morning and according to New York One TV, the wreck of the plane was located 12 kilometres South West of the islands coast. At the moment there are no reports about his wife Carolyn, and her sister Lauren who were travelling with him. The plane crashed early on Saturday on its way from New Jersey to Massachusetts where the group was to attend a wedding of a cousin Raury Kennedy. Lauren was to be dropped off at Martha's vineyard. [03] ANASTASIADES/MITSOTAKISDISY chairman Nicos Anastassiades is in full disagreement with the Mitsotakis positions on the joint defence dogma .Mitsotakis had stated that the Joint defence dogma is for domestic consumption only and that it is created problems in foreign policy. Anastassiades countered by stating that Mitsotakis may disagree with the dogma but he cannot discount it completely. He told the former Greek prime minister that on the contrary the dogma strengthens the negotiating position of Cyprus. Referring to the same issue government spokesman Costas Serezis said that Mitsotakis is only expressing his personal views. [04] SEREZIS/DIALOGThe Eceviit statements lead the initiative on Cyprus into a dead end according to government spokesman Coasts Serezis who spoke after today's cabinet meeting.Serezis added that the Ecevit statements on confederation ought make everyone, all those interested in a Cyprus solution, to think seriously. He added for yet another time such statements clearly reveal the true intentions of Ankara, which are none other than ratify the facts accomplice of the Turkish invasion, which is unacceptable both to the Greek Cypriot side as well as to the international community. [05] US OBSERVANCESWith demonstrations, marches and other observances on the anniversary of the Turkish invasion, the Greek expatriates in the United States and Britain condemned the crimes of Attila in Cyprus two and a half thousand expatriates formed a human chain around the Congress building in Washington.They demanded pressure upon Turkey by the American government for a just and viable Cyprus solution of the Cyprus problem. The demonstration was addressed by Erato Kozakou markoulli the Cyprus ambassadress to Washington as well as by senators and congressmen. The expatriates then marched on the White House where they staged a protest demonstration. In London, hundreds of expatriates last night demonstrated outside the Turkish embassy , demanding withdrawal of the Turkish occupation troops and colonists from Cyprus. A small number of Turkish Cypriots before the embassy entrance provoked the expatriates =both verbally and with gestures. One of them was arrested. A short time later three Greek Cypriots were also arrested for indescent behaviour according to the British police. [06] KURDCevat Soizal, a member of the Kurdish Workers party has been abducted by the Turkish secret services and taken to Turkey.The Turkish intelligence service MIT reported that it arrested Soizal in Germany and described him as a senior member, in fact PKK's second in command in Europe. However, a PKK spokesman said Soizal is not a leading member of the organisation and that he was arrested in Moldova and not in Germany. MIT published a photograph which shows a man with a hood being helped descend from a small aircraft by two male figures, perhaps MIT officials. [07] SIMITISAt the EU Summit conference in December, Greek Prime Minister Costas Simitis will request an immediate start of accession negotiations with Bulgaria.The statement was made by the Greek prime minister after his meeting at noon today with Bulgarian prime minister Ivan Kostof who is on an official two-day visit to Greece. The meeting of the two prime ministers confirmed the good climate in relations between the two countries. They also discussed the Balkan situation, and upgrading of Bulgarian relations with the EU. Simitis also said that ore-accession talks with Bulgaria have been concluded with success and that the next step, must follow, that is start of accession talks. Greece, it was stated, will also support Bulgaria's request to join NATO> This will be done at the next alliance summit meeting. [08] MANDELISThe Cyprus problem in a period off lucidity which must be exploited according to Greek Transport Minister Anastasios Mandelis.Speaking after a meeting with President Clerides, the Greek minister added that the Greek government will support all the president's efforts as well as those of the Cyprus government towards a Cyprus solution. Mandelis is in Cyprus representing the Greek government in the observances on occasion of the Turkish invasion anniversary. [09] GREECE AIRGreece looks at the prospect of liberalisation of air transport positively according to Greek transport and communications minister Anastasios Mandelis after his meeting with President Clerides.Mandelis yesterday conferred with Cyprus Communications and works minister Leonndios Ierodiakonou. He said that with liberalisation, there will be better service for the citizen because in addition to the lower prices, the services offered will be far superior under competitive conditions. Meanwhile the Chairman of Cyprus Airways Takis Kyriakides in speaking to the CyBC strongly opposed immediate liberalisation of the national carrier, saying that the company needs time, that it is viable and can survive and develop towards the 21st century. [10] CHRISTOUAKEL Parliamentary spokesman Andreas Christou described the Ecevit statements as the usual and repeated reaction of the Turkish side.He added that the Greek Cypriot side must remain sufficiently calm and see through the tactics of expediency behind such statements. As a rule he went on to say, Turkey enlarges its demands and expands its statements aiming at some form of gain from any initiative that appears. Christou also said that without underestimating the importance of such statements, they must be evaluated calmly and wisely. He made the statement during a visit to the Larnaca Refinery. [11] KYPRIANOU PRESSDIKO chairman Spyros Kyprianou told a news conference today that we are in the last phase of an international effort for a Cyprus solution, and, towards this end, we must have an integral strategy if dangers are to be averted.He added that the Greek Cypriot side must establish a convincing strategy on demands confirming it will not go beyond the boundaries of security which were established by the unanimous decisions of 1989. It must also insist on the basic position, he added, that in no way will iit accept permanence and legalisation of the division of Cyprus both politically as well as geographically. [12] WEATHERThe weather will be clear this evening with North Westerly light winds and a slight sea.Temperatures will drop to 25 C inland and on the South coast 22 C on the West coast and 129 C on the higher mountains. The weather will be clear tomorrow with some passing cloud. Winds in the morning will be North Westerly light, becoming Westerly to South westerly moderate in the afternoon. Temperatures will rise to 38 C inland, 35 C on the South coast, 312 C on the West coast and 29 C over the higher mountains.
