The Archaeological Museum of Kimolos is situated in Hora. In its halls is a significant collection of archaeological finds that
were brought to light after excavations on the island, especially
in the Hellinikon region. Among the exhibits, the remarkable
ceramics collection from the Geometric, Hellenistic and Roman periods stands out.
The Castle of Kimolos is preserved above Hora, on the site of the old village. The houses are built, one next to the other, giving the
impression of a wall, while their small windows form loopholes. The
inhabitants of the village found refuge there, in bad times, in order
to protect themselves. Nowadays, the houses of Pano Chorio are
completely abandoned, but nevertheless the picturesque quiet little
streets and the medieval houses are still a major attraction for
visitors.
The cave of Vromolimni is situated in the region of the same name north-east of Hora. Access there is possible only on foot, with a donkey or by caique from the port of Psathi. In the area is a series of caves carved out of the rocks, of which the cave of
Vromolimni is the largest. Inside the cave, there is a smaller one
which still remains unexplored.
