SARAJEVO - Deputy head of the Direction of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) and member of the SDS Main Board, Radovan Markov Karadzic, expressed his content with the preliminary results of the local elections in RS, according to which the SDS won the elections in 45-16 municipalities. Karadzic assessed that the internal crisis and pressures by the international elements, first of all OSCE which acted beyond its mandate, reflected to the electoral results. "We had been exhausting ourselves with the crisis and relations with the renegade RS president, because of which we were not provided with a chance to present our Party to the people of the Banjaluka region during the preelection campaign", concluded Karadzic.

PRNJAVOR - The Prnjavor Branch of the SDS called employees of the Public Security Centre (CJB) in Prnjavor to comply with orders of the legally elected leadership and not to accept possible replacements unless ordered by the current interior minister, Slavko Paleksic. A communique issued regarding an announcement of possible illegal replacements within the Prnjavor CJB, said that the "SDS expectations that the electoral results and effective victory of the political parties opted for RS unity would discourage Biljana Plavsic-led secessionist, who made enormous pressure upon the Prnjavor officials and its CJB Prnjavor, appeared to be unfounded". The SDS Board for Prnjavor warned CJB that "in case of a SFOR-helped attempt of replacement, it will call upon the employees to boycott the police".

VUKOVAR - The UN transitional administrator for Eastern Slavonija, Baranja and Western Srem, William Walker, stated in Ilok, regarding the presidential statement of the UN Security Council on the situation in Croatia, that he expected that the Croatian government fulfil its obligations undertaken pursuant to the international acts. "I hope that the announcements coming from the Croatian Government would go towards the solution to unsettled issues, and that many things would be cleared out at the meeting with the Croatian prime minister Zlatko Matesa on

Tuesday, September 23", Walker stated.

MOSTAR - The Croat members of the B-H Council of Ministers - vice-president Neven Tomic and foreign minister Jadranko Prlic - sharply condemned the bomb planting in a car in the Western part of Mostar, assessing it as an attempt at destabilisation of the peace process in B-H. In a joint statement, Croat officials said that the initiators and perpetrators of this terrorist action had had in mind suffering of civilians in densely populated part of the city with the nearby city hosptal.

SARAJEVO - At least 30 kilos of explosion was found in carbomb which exploded two days ago in the Croatian part of Mostar, confirmed the head of the Regional Office of High Representative, Sir Martin Geord. The minister of interior of the Herzegovna-Neretva Canton, Valentin Djoric, stated that the investigation discovered that a black "golf" exploded in front of the police station, and added that remains of the driver plate were found.

SARAJEVO - Due to the vagueness of the B-H Federation Government Decision on introduction of advance payment, which did not include trade with RS, a great number of joint "Federal-Serb" firms were founded over night. According to deputy Federal minister of trade, Amir Zukic, the goods produced in Serbia "were converted to the RS-produced goods for which customs duties are not paid. "That is why we ordered all cantonal and municipal market inspections that customs duties must be paid for goods imported from RS but produced in third countries", Zukic stated.
