NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BELGRADE - The President of Republika Srpska (RS) Biljana Plavsic stated that RS wishes to participate in American "Train and Equip" military programme but not under international community conditions. She said in the interview for "Demokratija" that the RS Army (VRS) is for the "Equip" but not for the "Train" part of the programme and added that there was need for "some kind of training" for new weapons.

BRCKO - In Brcko on November 4 and 5 will be held the donors conference about this city on which will participate the representatives of more than 20 countries and ten international organisations, it is announced from the Office of the supervisor Robert Farrand. At the conference will be talked about the reconstruction of infrastructure in the region of this municipality, development of small business, micro credits and financing housing construction for accommodation of the Serbian refugees, in which current homes, according to the plan of supervisor should be returned Croats and Moslems.

SARAJEVO - The Republika Srpska /RS/ National Assembly /NA/ President Dragan Kalinic repeated willingness of the Serb side to support the efforts of the International Red Cross Committee /ICRC/ and the High Representative Office for B&H to speed up the discovery of mass graves and theirs exhumation, which would solve the faith of missed persons of the war. Kalinic received Mrs. Margarit Contat Hickel the Head of Office for Missing Persons of the ICRC visit, and during the talks it was stressed that ICRC is irreplaceable for discovering of missing persons, and that there is in connection with that a stronger cooperation between ICRC and associations of missing persons families and the State Commission for Missing Persons needed.

SARAJEVO - The Bosnia and Herzegovina /B&H/ Foreign Minister deputy Dragan Bozanic stressed that the Croats and Muslims representatives are boycotting the importance of Crete Conference what shows the attitude of the B&H delegation toward this conference. "The invitation from Athens received only the President of B&H Presidency Alija Izatbegovic and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jadranko Prlic. Because they had refused that invitation, there were no consensus about representing the B&H on Crete at highest level" - Bozanic added.

SARAJEVO - In Pale, the Minister of Financial Affairs in RS Government Drago Simic with the representatives of the British agency "Crown Agents" concluded the agreement about opening the special account for the World Bank provided funds intended for reconstruction of RS. After the meeting Simic stated precisely that the "Crown Agents" agency will take care about procedures, deadlines and the ways of the World Bank funds withdrawing.

NOVI SAD - The primary aim of the Serbian Radio Television (SRT) transmitters sizings and abolition of the programme broadcasting from studio in Sarajevo is the creating of the multiethnic B&H, stated the RS Minister of Information Svetlana Siljegovic in the interview for Novi Sad daily paper "Dnevnik". "They asked from us to talk on SRT about Srebrenica victims. I agree, but under condition that Muslim television in Sarajevo explains disappearance of 12 000 Serbs in that city, and that number is higher from number of victims in Srebrenica, Zepa and all other places together. After that, our studio is closed" - emphasised Siljegovic.

BIJELJINA - The Head of the Office for Privatisation and Development of RS Aleksa Milojevic announced in Bijeljina that the first distribution of free shares of the enterprises from trade, hotel management, civil engineering, handicrafts and traffic areas will take place on November 10. Milojevic emphasised that there was, from June 18 till September 20 in 250 privatisation centres, registered 575 000 citizens, and added that Government will fix nominal value of the shares on Friday, November 7.

BANJALUKA - The President of the Union of syndicates of RS Cedo Volas talked in Banjaluka with the President of the International Federation of metalworkers based in Geneva Svetlana Sekerzijeva about social and working rights of workers in RS, negotiations between RS Government and the Union and about general and particular collective agreements.

BANJALUKA - The Rector of the Banjaluka University Dragoljub Mirjanic talked in Banjaluka with Austrian delegation of University service led by Wolfgang Benedeck about future cooperation of these two institutions and upgrading of high education in RS.

BRCKO - Till November 4, 30 citizens From RS and FB&H has signed up for job of a police officer in this town - confirmed the IPTF spokeswoman Kathy Leden.
