  • [01] Serbian military forces built up in west of Prishtine

    PRISHTINE, June 28 /ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports:

    Yugoslav military forces backed by some 60 tanks and other armaments were concentrated yesterday morning in the suburbs of the Bardh i Madh village, nearly 10 km west of Prishtine.

    The situation in Fushe-Kosova continues to be tense. Civilan armed and organised Serbs have taken to the streets along with the military forces.

    Groups of Serbian volunteers, dressed in military uniforms, were sent yesterday from Fushe-Kosova in the direction of Drenice. Serbian civilians were distributed weapons yesterday also at the Serbian army barracks in Gjakova.

    Sources say these groups have also taken part in the recent attacks and bombardments carried out by the Serbian military forces in the villages of Pantine and Okrashtice of the Vushtrise commune. /p.ta/das/lm/

    [02] Six Montenegrin soldiers desert army near Sllatine

    PRISHTINE, June 28/ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports:

    Six Montenegrin soldiers have deserted their army in the vicinity of the Sllatine village of Fushe Kosova commune.

    Sources of the Democratic League of Kosova (LDK) says that the soldiers jumped out of the vehicles while the Yugoslav military column was passing near a forest. /p.ta/das/lm/

    [03] Serbian snipers' shooting intensified in Gllogoc

    PRISHTINE, June 28 (ATA)-Shooting by Serbian sniper groups, established on the building of the Gllogoc town post office, has been intensified over the last three days, according to sources of the Council for the Defence of Human Rights and Freedoms.

    They also report that yesterday the Serbian forces deployed at Komoran opened fire from the armoured vehicles in the direction of the Gorge of Llapushnik.

    Large groups of Serbian police, coming to the town, have been deployed at one of the blocks of flats as well as the damaged building of the bus station. /P.Ta/das/lm/

    [04] Mitrovice: Serbian forces move towards Zubin Patok and Skenderaj

    PRISHTINE, June 28 (ATA)-Serbian forces yesterday moved in the direction of Zubin Patok. Two heavy transportation vehicles and well as truckloads of armed forces and headed by another vehicle thought to be transporting ammunition, came out of the Mitrovice barracks early in the morning and headed for Zubin Patok, according to sources from the Council for the Defence of Human Rights and Freedoms.

    According to the same sources, two armoured cars and several other military vehicles also moved in the same direction in the afternoon hours.

    Reinforcement troops were also sent towards Skenderaj on vehicles carrying Belgrade number plates. /p.ta/das/lm/

    [05] Helicopters attack Malisheve region

    PRISHTINE, June 28 /ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports:

    Military developments continue to concentrate on the border belt with Albania, in Dukagjin, Drenice and several regions of Rrafshi i Kosoves.

    The regions between Mitrovice and Vushtrise as well as Pantine and Okrashtice villages were attacked yesterday by the Yugoslav heavy artillery. Today, too, these forces continue to be on alert.

    According to the Prishtine press, four Serbian forces helicopters yesterday attacked regions of the Malisheve commune, opening fire on the inhabitants in the villages of Bubavec, Mlegan and Lluzhice. /p.ta/das/lm/

    [06] Wave of arrests among Albanian activists in Ferizaj

    PRISHTINE, June 28/ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports:

    This morning, in the vicinity of Ferizaj (South of Kosova) the Serbian police forces launched a fresh campaign of arrests among Albanian political and humanitarian activists.

    Several functionaries of the Democratic League of Kosova (LDK) and of the subcouncil for Human Rights in Ferizaj, among whom also the chairman of this subcouncil, have been arrested.

    Many Albanian citizens are also reported to have been maltreated and a number of houses raided and damaged./p.ta/das/lm/

    [07] Fierce fighting in Decan suburbs

    PRISHTINE, June 28 /ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports:

    Fierce fighting took place on the front line of the village of Prejlep of Decan last night and today.

    Sources from the spot say that the forces of Serbian aggressor have transported killed and wounded soldiers by helicopter. There have been no casualties on the part of Albanians.

    Reports from Decan suburbs also report on fierce fighting in the region of Vokshi, Baballoq and Gramacel. /das/lm/

    [08] Albanian killed in Gjakove in Yugoslav army attacks

    PRISHTINE, June 28 /ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports:

    Albanian teacher Rexhep Syla, 55, was killed in yesterday's fighting between the Albanian defensive forces and the Yugoslav army forces, which attacked the Shishman village of Boke e Rreke e Keqe.

    Fighting continued on Sunday in the regions on the border belt of Kosova with Albania, in the suburbs of Gjakova.

    Fresh reinforcements of Serbian forces on the Cabrati hill, near the Gjakova city, are also reported. /fh/das/lm/
