TIRANE, Sept 12 (ATA)-By A. Haxhiu,A delegation of the opposition, composed of representatives of the Democratic and Republican parties, will travel to the U.S. soon.

This is the first time the State Department has extended an invitation to the democratic forces, this time in opposition, to discuss the situation in Albania.

The aim of the visit, the RP chairman Fatmir Mediu said, is renewal of the relations between the Albanian opposition forces and the U.S., after a crisis they experienced during 1977.

Mediu said that the visit was also enabled by the idea launched by the DP deputy-chairman, Genc Pollo, on the unification of the Albanian opposition.

"I hold this has attracted the attention of the U.S. administration and institutions, as an idea which can bring about something new in the Albanian politics, also considering a rational cooperation between the politicians and the political forces," said Mediu. /lh/lm/
