    [02] ION MIHALACHE summer school

RADIO ROMANIA ACTUALITATI reports that the third day of the 2000 edition of the summer school ION MIHALACHE of PNTCD - Christian Democratic National Peasants Party - was devoted to an analysis of the results of local elections and the strategy for the fall elections in this country. If PNL builds any alliance with ApR then PNTCD should ask for the withdrawal of all PNL Cabinet ministers, as, according to the first vicepresident of PNTCD, Ioan Muresan, that party would not be able to prepare the elections in the fall alongside parties that are against the action of governing. PNTCD would continue talks for alliances with the " green " parties and with the Civil Alliance.

[03] Adrian Nastase about PNL - National Liberal Party - of Romania

First vice-president of PDSR - Social Demoracy Party of Romania - Adrian Nastase is of the opinion that the recent talks and taking of stands of PNL mirror the division of that party into conservative forces that are dominated by anti-communist attitudes and a reformist wing which is opened to the present and to reality - according to Adrian Nastase. This last mentioned wing is represented by Valeriu Stoica. Mr. Nastase also said that PNL was ready to renounce its past so that it would ensure itself a future. The PDSR leader is of the opinion that what is now happening with PNL hinders PD- the Democratic Party- to capitalize on its victory in the local elections for the Bucharest Town Hall and it can no longer develop a strategy against PDSR.
