SARAJEVO - The vicepresident of Republika Srpska (RS) Biljana Plavsic, met today in Bijeljina with the Bishop Dabrobo sanski, Nikolaj, the Bishop ZvornickoTuzlanski, Vasilije, and the Bishop Banjalucki, Jefrem. Prior to the meeting, Biljana Plavsic stated for SRNA that "in the name of the RS political leadership she will try to acquaint the bishops with the politi cal situation which, although difficult, is not hopeless". "During the four years of war, we have had regular meetings with representatives of the Church, whose advise has always been appreciated.

BANJALUKA - The president of the Socialist Party for RS Zivko Radisic, stated in Banjaluka that the disqualification of any political party in RS in the upcoming elections might be counterproductive. Radisic said that "such a move would be seri ous threat to the holding of September elections", adding that "Socialist Party for RS is absolutely consent that all parties which met conditions for their candidacy should run for power".

BIJELJINA - Up to now, 23,000 refugees and displaced per sons, presently living in Bijeljina, registered themselves for voting in the elections in RS and the CroatMuslim Federation. According to the secretary of the Municipal Electoral Commission in Bijeljina ,Dragan Vujuc, this figure represents 80-85 per cent of total of constituency in the municipality.

TRAVNIK - The spokesman of the OSCE Regional Centre in Banjaluka, Thomas Millerina, explained a decision prolonging the start of the preelection campaign in RS and the Federation by disability to check all candidates at all electoral levels. At a joint press conference, held in Travnik, for the first time in stead in Banjaluka, OSCE spokesman announced the data checking will be finished by tomorrow or Saturday July 20, at latest, when names and lists of all candidates are to be officially issued.

TESALONIKI - The Serbian president Slobodan Milosevic, refused to undertake any measures whatsoever against the RS president Radovan Karadzic, for it might well provoke strong reactions by various circles in Belgrade, assess the Greek media. At the same time, Russia, for the first time used a sharp tone in its comments on the position of America towards the Serbs, emphasise the Greek media, adding that Moscow "accused the Inter national Tribunal of being unbiased".

LONDON - IPTF spokesman Aleksander Ivanko, accused, in his statement granted Radio BBC, Muslim authorities of doing nothing to prevent mistreatment of the remaining Serb residents in Sa rajevo. Ivanko said IPTF is ever frequently receiving alarming reports on harassment of the remaining Serb population in the communities which came under Muslim control, which is particular ly evident in Osijek and Ilidza.

BEOGRAD - The Democratic Party of Serbia (SDS) sharply condemned a decision of Serbia's president Slobodan Milosevic to invite the vicepresident of the Corat-Muslim Federation Ejup Ganic for talks in Belgrade."Other than amnestying a man respon sible for the slaughter of the former Yugosalv People's Army conscripts in the Dobrovoljacka Street in Sarajevo, Milosevic again he displayed his servility and a complete subordination to the international community", says the SDS announcement.

BIJELJINA - In the car accident which happened near the Pavlovica Bridge, in the vicinity of Bijeljina the seriously injured were: Dijana (Hasana) Begovic from Belgrade, born 1983; Klaudija (Ratka ) Pozder from Belgrade, born 1974; Mira (Mirka) Bogojevic from Banjaluka, born 1956; Jovanka (Urosa) Bojinovic from Belgrade, born 1946; and Rade (Milovana) Jandric from Sipo vo, born 1954.
