NOV. 16, 1996 DAY
NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA
SARAJEVO - The Defence Law provides ground for reorganisation of the Army
of Republika Srpska (VRS) on the basis of which the RS president Biljana
Plavsic made a Decision on changes and supplements of the Decision on VRS
peace-time organisations, says a communique released from the RS
Presidential Cabinet.
BANJALUKA - The Serb arguments are clear, for the subject of the
arbitration is the inter-entity boundary line, but not the city of Brcko
itself, stated members of the RS lawyer team, Lawyers Delbert Smith and
Nikola Kostic stated after their meeting with the RS vice-president
Dragoljub Mirjanic that "the RS continuity is guaranteed", adding that
"neither the territory is cut off at a single point, nor a city can be
divided".
BANJALUKA - The Serbian Party of the Krajina (SSK) welcomed the
presidential decision on the VSR reorganisation and transformation of the
Headquarters into the General Staff. "These are constitutional and legal
authorisations of our elected president, and we consider that none has the
right to dismiss the decisions on the transformation passed by the RS
National Assembly."
VUKOVAR - The secretary for legal affairs and administration of the
Slavonsko-Baranjska District (SBO) Vojislav Susa, stated that the Amnesty
Law adopted by the Croatian Assmelby "meets the basic function, but is
played down by its creators". "We are faced with a case where the people
had been released from prisons and arrested again on the next day, but
under different charge", which is a clear message, claims Susa, that "the
best option for the Serbs is to leave Croatia".
VUKOVAR - The SBO Assmelby demands that the SBO reman a whole as an area,
and not to be divided into two municipalities, as demanded by Croatian
party, stated the president of the SBO Executive Board Vojislav
Stanimirovic. Following last week's talks with president Tudjman, he
concluded that the Serbian people must be provided with "something more"
then that provided under the Croatian legislation.
