NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

HAMBURG - The president in the B-H Presidency Momcilo Krajisnik, warned that the Dayton B-H can survive only on the principles of equality, parity and decisions made by consensus, which are the basic principles of the Dayton agreement. In an interview for the German "Neues Deutchland", president Krajisnik dismissed suggestions that the Serbs impede the implementation of the Dayton agreement, and warned that "RS was ready for an early establishment of the joint bodies, deemed to replace the bodies controlled exclusively by Muslims". RS is committed for a double parity in dealing with bilateral problems and for a triple parity when discussion is on national interests and human rights of all three peoples, but it was not before the international pressure that the Muslim side agreed to such relations, stated president Krajisnik.

BRCKO - The high representative of the international community, Carl Bildt, who is to leave his post in a few next days, stated in Brcko that this city determines future of the overall peace process. "Mostar is a test for survival of B-H Federation, Sarajevo is the picture of a future B-H, while Brcko is the city crucial to B-H peace prospects", stated Bildt. As a major omission in his two-year mandate, Bildt mentioned the failure of the international community to make the orderly transition of power in Sarajevo.

SARAJEVO - SFOR presented its "Open Skies" operation at the Sarajevo airport, purposed to prevent any intention of aggression by the former warring sides in B-H. The "Open Skies" operation will take place in line with the SFOR mandate, and will be continued after the peace troops withdraw from the region. The presentation was entrusted to Hungarian Air Force Command, which representatives will carry out testing flights in the next two days, in addition to controls of military and other contingents and screening of ground from 3,000 meters altitude.

THESALONIKI - Under the title "Balkan Dinosaurs" the Greek paper Elephetropypya publishes an article about presidents of Serbia and Croatia, Slobodan Milosevic and Franjo Tudjman, describing them as the leaders who fight their last battles. "The Serbian president battles for the presidential post of new Yugoslavia, and Croatian president struggles to permanently keep his post of Croatia's first man. Both of them dispose of a strong factor - the assurances from the great powers that they are the only guarantees of stability not only in their respective countries, but also in the regions dependent on Belgrade and Zagreb".
