SARAJEVO - The President from Republika Srpska in the Presidency of B&H,
Momcilo Krajisnik, talked in Pale with the special representative of the
Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alexander Aksenyak, about the finding
of a compromise for removing all the obstacles for the holding of a Donors'
Conference. The economically unjustified tariffs were the biggest problem,
but an optimal solution was found, thus clearing the way for participating
at the Donors Conference, stated Krajisnik after the meeting. This evening
Republika Srpska and the Federation of B&H are to exchange information,
explained Krajisnik, hoping that this problem will be overcome. While
pointing out that a customs tariffs law is a very important part of the so-
called 'package for quick beginning', Aksenyak stated that he is satisfied
with the reached compromise which makes the holding of Donors' Conference
possible.
SARAJEVO - The co-chairman of the Council of Ministers of B&H, Boro Bosic,
announced in Sarajevo that the Donors' Conference scheduled for June 24 and
25th may be delayed for July 12 and 13th. 'The Council of Ministers
considered the issues in regard to the preparations of the Donors'
Conference and took a position on that the conference is to take place as
soon as possible, this being in the interest of both entities - Republika
Srpska and the Federation of B&H', stated Boro Bosic.
PETROVO - The Association of Refugees from Petrovo believes that the status
matters of refugees and displaced persons in this municipality are to be
solved more effectively. It requests the Republika Srpska (RS) authorities
to undertake adequate measures for improving their position. The current
situation of refugees and displaced persons in this municipality is an
extremely difficult, asserts a communique issued after the session of the
Executive Board of the Association.
MRKONJIC GRAD - Within his regular working visit to military units and
commands, the chief of the General Staff of the Army of Republika Srpska,
general Pero Colic, talked with leadership of the municipalities of
Mrkonjic Grad, Sipovo and Ribnik, commanders of the police stations in
these parts of RS and deputies of the National Assembly, about the security
situation. While addressing the Serbian people, general Colic said that he
believes his state leadership and army, pointing out that 'we decide by
ourselves about our fate', and no one has the right to subordinate the
national interests to his personal.
MODRICA - The hearing of witnesses in the legal proceeding against Ferid
Halilovic accused of war crimes against imprisoned Serb civilians in the
camps of Odzak, Novi Grad, near Odzak, and Brod, is continued before the
Grand Jury of the Court in Modrica today. Upon the proposal made by public
prosecutor, the presiding judge, Zoran Tanasic summoned six witnesses and
two witnesses who were proposed by defence.
