JUNE 21 1997 DAY
NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA
BANJA LUKA - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic
uncovered on the Banja Luka's cemetery "St. Pantelija" the monumental
tombstones for the eight killed Serbian fighters from the former First
Krajina Corpus and lied down the wreaths. These fighters were the members
of the First medley anti-armoured artillery brigade, who were captured with
another five colleagues, and then atrociously murdered on the August 13,
1992, on the Naked Mountain near Jajce. According to the president Plavsic,
these, like all other killed Serbian soldiers, had left the message to the
living Serbs that they are building from within the stable Serbian state,
because only in it Serbian people can live freely.
BANJA LUKA - The vice-president of RS Dragoljub Mirjanic talked in Banja
Luka with the president of the Commerce Chamber of the Greek province
Pieria Nichos Vulgarachis and his assistants about the future economic and
cultural cooperation between Serbian and Greek people. The Greek delegation
acquainted Mr. Mirjanic with the plans of the future cooperation of the
Trade Chambers of this and Serbian regions, and contacts which they had
with the enterprises in RS during the three days stay in RS.
SARAJEVO - If the international community on the Donors conference,
scheduled for the middle of July, do not allot to RS the funds for
reconstruction, and after that follow new blackmails connected with this
aid, RS will give up this aid and enable coming in the foreign private
capital, warned the vicepresident of RS Government Aleksa Buha. While
participating in the programming of the Serbian Radio, Buha stressed that
RS reached the compromise about adopting the Package of laws for quick
start, so the funds for reconstruction finally could come to RS too.
BRCKO - The High Representative of the international community for B&H
Carlos Westendorp assessed during the stay in Brcko that on this city
depends the success of the Dayton Agreement. While warning that the eyes of
the whole world are turned towards the success of the task in the region of
Brcko, Westendorp stressed that Brcko is at the top of its priorities.
BRCKO - By the arrival of ten international policemen from Sweden in Brcko
is fulfilled the number of anticipated 258 monitors, who are monitoring the
work of the local police - confirmed the spokesman of IPTF Andrea Agneli.
"At the region of the municipality Brcko are got settled five stations of
IPTF - the main and two small in the city and another two in the
region of the Federation B&H /FB&H/, in the villages Cerik and
Gornji Rahic", said Agneli.
AMSTERDAM - The international community is seriously concerned because the
danger of final division of B&H will become more real if before the
electoral campaign in RS and FB&H they do not undertake the most serious
cut related to the return of the refugees - deem the majority of Dutch
analysts. As stressed in the comments, in this moment the psychological
tensions are on the pinnacle, and the mostly stressed are the pre-electoral
activities of the great number of parties. Because of that it is necessary
to use this moment for strengthening the pressures on the representatives
of authorities of both entities and for imposing new ultimatums.
