BANJA LUKA - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic will
soon depart in the more days visit to Great Britain, where she will meet
the high British officials - it is confirmed in the Cabinet of the RS
president. The president Plavsic will use this visit to Britain will use
for meetings with the Representatives of Serbs in this country.
SARAJEVO - The vice-president of RS Government and minister of the Foreign
Affairs Aleksa Buha talked in Pale with the Italian Ambassador in B&H
Michelle Valensiese about the implementation of the Dayton Agreement, the
Donors Conference and establishing more stable bilateral cooperation
between RS and Italy. After the meeting Buha assessed RS has a right to
expect that after the Donors Conference, scheduled for July 12 and 13 in
Brussels, it will get the financial resources in the percentage which
belongs to it on the basis of agreements and principles about equality of
entities.
DOBOJ - The HQ of the Nordic-Polish brigade of SFOR in Doboj expressed he
wariness because announcements of forcible return of Moslems in Doboj's sub-
urban settlement Makljenovac and again rejected the possibility to be a
guarantor of security for returnees. In the announcement of the commander
of this unit general Carlsen Muler is pointed out the necessity of
negotiations between Serbian authorities and Moslem refugees from Tesanj in
order to respect the procedure precisely given in the provisions of the
Dayton Agreement.
DOBOJ - For the last seven days on the wider Doboj's region is destroyed
another seven mine-fields, and during this year in the same region was
destroyed in all 2,711 mines, which is still unsatisfying - it is announced
in Doboj's HQ of the Nordic-Polish brigade of SFOR. At the press conference,
the officers of the Doboj's HQ of SFOR announced that having in mind that
in this region is set about three millions of mines, the number of
the neutral mine-explosive devices didn't reach three percentage.
SARAJEVO - The council for the programme orientation and editorial policy
of media, which founder is the RS Assembly at its first session in Pale
discussed about the editorial policy and programme orientation of media in
the pre-electoral campaign. In the discussion about this theme moved the
numerous principle issues in the connection with the work of the state
media - Serbian news agency /SRNA/, Serbian radio-television /SRT/,
"Glas Srpski (the Voice of Serbs)" "Oslobodjenje" and "Javnost".
The leading persons of the informational houses, the representatives
of the Government and RS Army agreed that the Council, as the advisory body
of the Government, give to media the concrete proposals for working on the
campaign for local elections, along with the proposal that SRT, which local
radio stations are spread through whole RS, would be the coordinator of the
work on elections.
BANJA LUKA - The former deputy High Representative of the international
community Michael Steiner assessed that "there remains the serious work on
the further implementation of the Dayton agreement, but in relation with
the situation 18 months before were reached many positive results". "There
is no blockade of the roads, check-points nor sand-bags, and the media are
more opened" - concluded Steiner on the farewell press conference
in Banja Luka.
