BANJALUKA - The RS president Biljana Plavsic condemned in Banjaluka "uncivilised and inhumane" acting by SOFR soldiers, who killed a person in Prijedor and apprehended three. At a press conference, the president read the letter she sent to SFOR commander general William Crouch, protesting the arrest and a murder of Simo Drljaca in Prijedor. "According to information I received, Drljaca's house was attacked, he was killed, and his 17- year old son and son-in-low arrested", Plavsic explained.

SARAJEVO - The RS prime minister Gojko Klickovic, sent a letter to the OSCE Mission chief, Robert Frowick, informing him that the RS Government was flabbergasted by tone and behaviour of his spokesman, David Foley who allowed himself freedom to call the RS authorities, Government, National Assembly and members of the joint bodies the "Pale Gang". In the letter Klickovic said that: "The RS Government reviewed a statement of OSCE spokesman David Foley given at yesterday's press conference in Pale, and decided to lodge a public protest regarding the tone and content of his statement."

SARAJEVO - The RS Government sent a letter to OSCE Mission chief, Robert Frowick, in which it informs him that the Government concluded that there were serious disturbances in relations with OSCE. "Taking into consideration some aspects of the cooperation with OSCE Mission, which is under your leadership, the Government concluded that the disturbances are reflected in all the more frequent attempts by OSCE at expanding its mandate beyond the authorisations provided Annex 3 of the Dayton agreement, which are especially reflected in decisions of the commissions established within the OSCE Mission, and while the past experience indicates that OSCE breaches its authorisations, openly interferes into RS internal affairs and slights values and customs of the Serbian people in B-H".

ZVORNIK - A meeting of the RS top leadership, RS Senate and representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church was held in Zvornik on current political situation.

BANJALUKA - Deputy RS defence minister and chief of information and defence policy section, Miro Mladjenovic, stated that the way of NATO carried out the action in Prijedor showed that the goal was to kill the war crimes suspect Simo Drljaca, and not to take him alive to the Hague. "All SAS elite units, supported by helicopters and armoured vehicles, took part in the operation, so there was no chance that the victim endanger the lives of those who took part in the operation", stated Mladjenovic for the Flesh Agency.

BANJALUKA - SFOR mandate was not changed, and the operation in Prijedor was NATO operation, ordered and authorised by the NATO Joint Command, stated spokesman of SFOR Sector South-West, major Mike Rite at an improvised press conference held in front of the "Bosna" Hotel in Banjaluka. He confirmed that the stabilisation force in Prijedor killed Simo Drljaca, former chief of the Public Security Centre and arrested Dr Milan Kovacevic director of "Dr Mladen Stojanovic" Hospital in Prijedor.

SARAJEVO - The president of the RS Red Cross, Dr. Ljiljana Zelen-Karadzic, informed the ICRC president Cornellio Sommaruga of a dishonest act by SFOR missing the Red Cross symbol to arrest Dr Milan Kovacevic from Prijedor. Mrs. Zelen-Karadzic noted that while carrying a package marked with Red Cross symbols, SFOR soldiers entered Kovacevic's office.

BEOGRAD - The decision of the international community and SFOR to start with arrests of war crimes suspects causes a grave concern and would surely contribute to further deepening of the crisis in RS, warned the Democratic Party of Serbia.

BEOGRAD - The spokesman of the Democratic Party, Aleksandra Joksimovic, condemned the events in Prijedor, and warned that it was like playing with the fire.
