NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The president in the Presidency of B&H from Republika Srpska /RS/ Momcilo Krajisnik talked in Pale with the representatives of OSCE Ambassadors Vladimir Kuznietsov and Mr. Elerkman about current issues of conducting the local elections and work of the Commission for media. "At the meeting is concluded that it is necessary to undertake all measurements for decreasing tensions of all of factors engaged in the peace process", it is cited in the announcement from the Cabinet of the president Krajisnik signed by his adviser Momir Brajic.

SARAJEVO - At the session of the Presidency of B&H held in Sarajevo is reached the consensus that B&H would have 32 representative offices in the world - 28 embassies and four missions, the same as B&H had before the war, but Moslem and Croatian representatives could reach the agreement about the division of two-thirds of embassies, as so much belongs to the Federation of B&H. "According to the Dayton Agreement to Republika Srpska /RS/ belongs one third of diplomatic representatives, which is not disputable, but representatives of Croats and Moslems could not agree about the way of division, because there were the different views about the ways of choice and determining the embassies, depending on their importance", explained the counsellor of the president in the Presidency of B&H from RS Nenad Radovic.

DERVENTA - In Derventa was held the rally of support for the recent decisions of president of RS Biljana Plavsic by the opponent parties. The gathered people first addressed the leaders of the parliamentary and out of parliament parties calling upon to give support the decisions of the president Plavsic and resolving the National Assembly and organising the new elections.

SARAJEVO - The co-presiding of the Council of Ministers Boro Bosic sent to the High Representative for civil affairs Carlos Westendorp the letter in which with regret he informs him that the further work of the Serbian representatives in this body is "very seriously brought into question by the last events which actors were the members of SFOR". Giving the reasons for not coming at the session of the Council of Ministers, Bosic noted that the representatives of RS were forced on it, because SFOR "just today in Lukavica and Trebevic, and tomorrow who knows in which part of RS, is pursuing the persons for whom only they know what they are guilty for, bringing fears and unrest".

BRCKO - The special UN envoy for the human rights in the former Yugoslavia Elizabeth Rehn assessed during stay in Brcko that the operation of SFOR in Prijedor, in which is killed Simo Drljaca,"was not the appropriate way in which the justice would be satisfied", and warned that such activities dare not be continued. While expressing the personal regret because "the events in Prijedor", Mrs. Rehn stressed that "SFOR have to regret it first, because Simo Drljaca has a right to be tried".

HAGUE - The Belgrade's lawyer Igor Pantelic, who defend Milan Kovacevic, kidnapped by SFOR soldiers on July 10 in the Prijedor's hospital and extradited to the court in Hague, confirmed for SRNA that the health status of arrested docotr Kovacevic is very bad. According to him, the detailed investigations are underway, which results will be known tomorrow morning, after which the further procedure could be expected.

BANJA LUKA - In the base of SFOR, in Pilanska street in Banja Luka, on July 16 at 22,40 h were heard three of four explosions, and after that the firing from the machine guns, is written in the tonight's announcement of the Police station communicated to SRNA. "Immediately after the explosions, the members of Police station came on the spot where they found the members of SFOR who already arrested four persons -Darko Dragic /1982/, Darko Maljus /1972/, Nenad Radic /1974/ and Nenad Sajin /1937/, all from Banja Luka, suspected that they have done this criminal act", it is stated in the text. For detained persons was given to the police who were heard in the presence of IPTF members. "It is found out that they were only accidental passerby and in no way they could be brought into connection with these criminal acts, which also confirmed the IPTF members.

SARAJEVO - In the framework of the mission of the World Bank in Sarajevo was held the forum on the policy of the public health at which the representatives of the world Bank, RS and Federation of B&H presented their views on the reform of the health insurance in their surroundings. The member of the Expert group for implementation in the Ministry of health and social security in the RS Government Ljubo Potpara, while talking about the Strategic plan of development of health until the year 2,000, said that the reforms should remove previous weaknesses in this field,

BELGRADE - The president of the Serbian Radical Party /SRS/ Vojislav Seselj accused the president of RS Biljana Plavsic that "she leads the policy of the foreign powers, which stir up the conflicts in the leadership of this country", said Mr. Seselj at the press conference in Belgrade.

BANJA LUKA - The OSCE spokesman from its Office in Mostar Frederika Zeider announced in Vitez that the official pre-electoral campaign for the municipal elections in RS and FB&H will start on Monday, July 21. At the press conference she announced that the OSCE will organise the round tables at which will participate the party leaders, as well the presenting the parties, coalitions and independent candidates in the media.

SREMSKI KARLOVCI - In Sremski Karlovci was held the commemoration for the general Dragoljub Draza Mihajlovic on the occasion of the 51 years of his death. The mention was held in the Serbian Orthodox Church by His Holiness arch-priest sremski Mr. Vasilije with the clergy.
