SARAJEVO - The Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) lodged a complaint to Provisional Election Commission (PEC) and to Appeals Subcommission in which SDS demands that ballots which arrived in the counting centre in Serbian Sarajevo without proper documentation should be proclaimed as invalid - SRNA learns unofficially.

DOBOJ - The representative of Republika Srpska (RS) and the member of karate club "Sloga - Privredna Banka" from Doboj Mirela Bozanovic won bronze medal at the Youth World Cup in Karate in the Hungarian town Miskovac. According to trainer of the Karate Club from Doboj, Bosko Susic, today, on the last day of Cup, the fights in team competition in which will participate woman karate team from Doboj, Bozanovic, Slavica Ilic and Sonja Filipovic are scheduled.

SARAJEVO - The RS Government supervisor in the OSCE centre in Vienna Goran Milinic stated that in the last shipment of 9,235 ballots which arrived from Vienna at the airport in Sarajevo, 8,411 is invalid because they have post office stamp with the date after the voting was ended - reports Radio FERN.

BRCKO - The Great Britain Minister of Internal Affairs Allun Michael stated during the visit to IPTF members in Brcko in RS that he is "encouraged with the internal degree of democratisation of the local police forces". "We came to see how the Police of Great Britain cooperates with the police officers from other countries, and with members of the local police forces" - emphasised Michael for SRNA.

SARAJEVO - The Commander of US Army General Henry Shelton stated that USA still had not decided about participation of US forces in the new mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) but, that "nobody brings in question the fact that some kind of military presence will be needed after June 1998". The US Embassy in Sarajevo confirmed that Shelton met with the SFOR Commander in RS and B&H Federation Eric Shinsecky and stressed that they discussed about modalities for US participation in the new peacekeeping forces.

BELGRADE - Today, 7.234,769 registered citizens in Serbia will, at 9,827 polling stations which are opened in 7:00 am, choose the new president of Republic Serbia. This time the presidential candidates are: the candidate of Socialist Party of Serbia, JUL and New Democracy Milan Milutinovic, the President of Serbian Radical Party Vojislav Seselj, the President of Serbian Movement of Renewal Vuk Draskovic, the President of Social- democracy Vuk Obradovic, the President of Liberal-Democratic Party Predrag Vuletic, the President of Democratic Centre Dragoljub Micunovic and the candidate of group of citizens Miodrag Vidakovic.

ZAGREB - The Serbs which returned in Krajina are in difficult humanitarian situation - warns the President of the Civil board for human rights in Croatia Zoran Pusic. He negated the statement of the Croatian Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa which claims that the living conditions of returnees are "acceptable".
