NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - Dragan Kalinic, former President of the Republika Srpska (RS) National Assembly submitted his resignation from the post of the RS Supreme Defence Council member. In a letter forwarded to the RS President Biljana Plavsic Kalinic said that he made that decision "regarding that on June 17th in 1998 he had been dismissed from the post of the President of the RS National Assembly".

BANJALUKA - First on the list for the RS National Assembly on behalf of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) is Mirjana Sainovic and for the House of Representatives of the B&H Parliamentary Assembly Radoslav Kanjaric. In the SRS announcement is said that Sajinovic was a delegate in a current and previous convocation of the RS Parliament, she is also President of the SRS Municipal Board in Doboj. Kanjaric is President of the Executive Board of the Bijeljina Municipal Assembly.

PRISTINA - The terroristic organisation "Kosovo Liberation Army" (KLA) prepares for the "decisive clash with Serbian enemies" - is said in the annoucement in Albanian language which was distributed to the press in Pristina. "The KLA is making arrangements for general mobilisation, which would make possible for Albanian people to carry out the decisive clash with the enemy", is said in the announcement.

BANJALUKA - President of the Republika Srpska (RS) National Assembly Petar Djokic said that "RS does not have to be afraid of the unitarianisation because the Dayton Peace Accord, aside from all its faults, has left enough space for RS independence and sovereignty". "As President of the National Assembly I will do my best that everything is to be aimed toward unity and prosperity of RS, and every democratic fight in that direction will be welcomed", said Djokic for the Serbian Radio Television.

SREBRENICA - The RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik promised in Srebrenica that the RS Government would provide 200,000 DM for rebuilding of the water supply, in order for people in the Municipality to get drinking water. At the meeting with businessmen and representatives of the Srebrenica authorities Dodik said that the Government would provide assets for rebuilding of the city sewerage system.

BANJALUKA - Delegation of the RS Government, which will be headed by the RS Minister of Veterans Affairs Tihomir Gligoric, will pay an official visit to Rome from June 22nd to 28th - the RS Ministry of Information in Banjaluka announced. Aim of this visit is a continuation of a dialogue initiated in Sarajevo by the RS Government representatives, Management- Chamber of the Economy and the RS Union of Syndicates. The organizer of a dialogue was the International Work Organisation.

PRISTINA - Colonel of the Serbia Internal Affairs Ministry and spokesman for the region of Kosovo Bozidar Filic confirmed that travel communications in Kosovo were safe while risk drive was possible only on the Stimlje-Suva Reka and Pristina-Prizren road because occasional terroristic attacks. He denied claims of the terroristic organisation "Kosovo Liberation Army" that under its control was holded one third of Kosovo adding that its members announce themselves on certain places and roads.

MOSCOW - Deputy Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Nikolaj Afanasjevski will have talks in Belgrade on June 21st with representatives of the FRY and Serbia authorities on implementation of obligations and conclusions from the joint statement of the Yugoslav and Russian President Slobodan Milosevic and Boris Jeljcin. Afanisejvski will arrive to Pristina on June 21st where he will meet ethnic Albanian representatives. His visit to FRY is already assessed in Moscow as very important and significant.

BERLIN - There is no alibi in Kosovo for everyday murders, which the international community and Europe can not allow it because it is about a disgrace and a scandal - said exclusively for SRNA German chancellor Helmut Kohl. "The Kosovo crisis is of special interest for Germany which received only from Bosnia 350,000 refugees of which 200,000 is still in Germany and they are about to return to their homes" - said Kohl adding that "those refugees have costed Germany 15 billions of DM".

VITEZ - Thousands of Croats protested in Vitez because the international community did not fulfil given promise that Croats, who had surrendered voluntarily to the Hague War Crimes Tribunal on October 6th in 1997, will be put on a trial on time. Aim of this protest was to point out on irresponsible and unacceptable relation and treatment of the international community and prosecutor's office of the Hague Tribunal toward crimes committed in B&H.

NEW YORK - Richard Holbruck begins his duties as the U.S. Ambassador to the UN in a moment when there is a great danger of new war clashes in Kosovo, and from Cyprus to India, which could jeopardise its creation in B&H - warns the political analysts in the U.S. An architect of the Dayton Peace Accord on Monday will arrive to Cyprus in order to try to save the NATO south wing from a direct conflict between two of the NATO members.
