0835:CYPPRESS:01[01] Vassiliou to participate in Peres Centre meetingNicosia Oct 18 (CNA) -- President of United Democrats party, George Vassiliou, will take part in the first meeting of the International Council of the Peres Centre for peace, in Israel.The former President of the Republic, who is a member of the Peres Centre, departs for Tel Aviv tomorrow, where, on Monday, he will talk on the economic aspects of the peace process. The Centre was set up on the initiative of late Israeli Prime Minister, Shimon Peres. Its members include Czech President, Vaclav Havel, former US President, Jimmy Carter, former Spanish Prime Minister, Felipe Gonzalez, and US diplomat and Presidential Emissary for Cyprus, Richard Holbrooke. CNA MCH/RG/1997ENDS, CYPRUS NEWS AGENCY1405:CYPPRESS:02[02] Christofi - Constantinople - LondonNicosia, Oct 19 (CNA) -- Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister, Kyriakos Christofi is due to fly later today to Constantinople (Istanbul) for the 12th session of the World Tourism Organisation General Assembly.Christofi will on Wednesday fly to London to participate in a Commonwealth business Conference which aims at reinforcing co-operation between member-states, as well as promoting investment and trade. The results of the Conference will then be submitted to the Commonwealth Meeting of Heads of Government which will be held between October 24-27 in Edinburgh.
