[01] Cyprus issue - UN General Assembly

New York, Sep 18 (CNA) -- The Cyprus issue is included in the 54th
session of the UN General Assembly.
The plenary meeting of the 54th session decided Friday to include the
item "Question of Cyprus" on its agenda and allocate it at an appropriate
time during the session.

Nicosia, Sep 18 (CNA) -- The Turkish Cypriot side has expressed concern
about a UN proposal for the appointment of a Norwegian diplomat to the post
of Special Cyprus Representative of the UN Secretary General, UN sources
have told CNA.
The concerns apparently relate to Norway's reluctance to import
potatoes originating from the Turkish occupied part of Cyprus, in
compliance with a ruling of the European Court of Justice.
