[01] Moses - Departure - Statements
Larnaca, Oct 21 (CNA) -- US Presidential Emissary Alfred Moses said efforts
will continue to try and get the Greek and Turkish Cypriot sides back to
the negotiating table in accordance with UN resolutions which call for
unconditional talks.
He told the press on his departure after two days of talks here, that
they did not manage to "close the differences" on the modalities of the
talks and said both sides reiterated their wish to work towards a solution.

[02] President Clerides - British High Commissioner
Nicosia, Oct 21 (CNA) -- Britain remains committed to efforts to help the
Greek and Turkish Cypriot sides return to the negotiating table, as UN
resolutions call for, British High Commissioner to Cyprus Edward Clay has
said.
Speaking after a meeting today with Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides,
the British diplomat said moves to achieve this goal will probably take
place outside the island as well and clarified that the content of the
invitation to talks, Kofi Annan is expected to issue, is exclusively his
responsibility.

[03] US envoy - Departure - Statements
Larnaca, Oct 21 (CNA) -- US Presidential Emissary for Cyprus Alfred Moses
today said differences between the two sides on the island on the
modalities of peace talks remain after his two days of talks here, but
assured he will continue his efforts in accordance with UN resolutions.
Talking to Greek and Turkish Cypriot reporters at Larnaca Airport
before his departure, Moses said finding a solution to the Cyprus question
is an ongoing process and not a one-day or two-day undertaking.

Nicosia, Oct, 21 (CNA) -- Cyprus will host the Ninth Conference of the
Union of European Parachutists (UEP), between 25 -31 October 1999,
organised by the Pancyprian Association of Reserve Commandos.
Several veteran European army officers, including former army
Commanders will participate in the Conference which aims at informing the
participants on the Cyprus problem.
