[04] Ria Novosti Chairman - Cyprus

Nicosia, Mar 31 (CNA) -- Chairman of the Russian News Agency "Ria Novosti", Alexei Volin, today expressed the view that cooperation with the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) will help inform more Russians on the Cyprus problem and the island's economic and business prospects and would also help increase tourism from his country.

Speaking during a meeting with Greek Cypriot journalists at the end of a four- day visit here, at the invitation of CNA, Volin said it is important for Russian journalists to visit Cyprus and write on the situation as this would create a public opinion that would in turn put pressure on politicians to back efforts to reach a settlement on the island.
