    [07] UN - Talks - President - Health

Nicosia, May 4 (CNA) -- The UN has no plans at this stage to change the resumption date of peace talks on Cyprus, scheduled to begin on 23 May in New York, a spokesperson for the UN told CNA today, adding that UN Secretary General's Special Advisor for Cyprus Alvaro de Soto has already informed Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides about this.

The comments come amid increasing speculation that the President is unlikely to be fit to travel to New York for the talks later this month because of the operation he has to undergo Friday morning to remove a polyp from his large intestine.
