Washington, May 17 (CNA) -- US Defence Secretary William Cohen assured
Greek Americans of the US administration's interest in Cyprus, noting that
every time he meets Turkish officials he puts forward President Bill
Clinton's interest over the issue.
At the same time State Department Special Coordinator for Cyprus Thomas
Weston and the Department's Spokesman Richard Boucher said the US remains
committed in the process for a Cyprus settlement.

[02] Cyprus - Greek fighter planes
Nicosia, May 17 (CNA)-- Two Greek Air Force fighter planes F16 today flew
over Cyprus, within the framework of the military exercise "Vergina -
Toxotis", jointly organised by Cyprus' and Greece's armed forces.
A Cyprus Defence Ministry spokesman told CNA that the two F16 flew for a
few minutes over the Paphos air base, in the western coast of the island.

[03] PSEKA Conference - Cyprus problem
Washington, May 17 (CNA) -- Cyprus and Greece have called on the US to keep
the promises it made regarding Cyprus and to act towards Ankara before the
third round of the UN-sponsored talks starts, to show the necessary
political will to promote a Cyprus settlement.
This was outlined during yesterday's start of the 11th annual World
Coordinating Committee - Justice for Cyprus and the Council of Hellenes
Abroad (PSEKA/SAE) Cyprus conference in Washington.
