    Nicosia, May 31 (CNA) -- Cyprus and Slovakia will soon sign cooperation protocols in the fields of education, culture and sports.

    This was the outcome of Cyprus' Minister of Education and Culture Ouranios Ioannides official visit to Slovakia.

    [02] Cabinet - Decision - Increase in fuel prices

    Nicosia, May 31 (CNA) -- The Cabinet today decided an increase in the prices of fuel which raise the price of unleaded petrol from 37,8 cents to 41,8 cents a litre (one Cyprus pound = 1,62 US dollars).

    According to the new prices which will come into effect as from today, the price of super goes up from 40,0 cents to 44,0 cents and the price of diesel from 14,6 to 16,6 cents.

    [03] Britain - Loizidou case

    London, May 31 (CNA) - The British Foreign Office has denied reports in the Cyprus press claiming that London is wholly or partly behind an attempt to freeze the European Court of Human Rights ruling in the case of Greek Cypriot Titina Loizidou against Turkey.

    A high-ranking Foreign Office official told CNA that the reports have no basis, adding that the British position is in favour of the implementation of the court judgment.

    [04] Conference of European Ministers for Sport - Cyprus

    Nicosia, May 31 (CNA) -- A Cyprus delegation participates in the two-day 9th Conference of European Ministers responsible for Sport, which ends today in Bratislava.

    Speaking at the Conference, Cyprus Minister of Education and Culture Ouranios Ioannides said Cyprus spends about 6,5 million US Dollars, annually for the upgrading of its sport installations to comply with the modern data.
