Nicosia, Aug 24 (CNA) -- Cyprus Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides will press on with the Greek government the need to convince relatives of Greek nationals, listed as missing since the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus, to come forward to give blood and information about their loved ones to help establish their fate.

    [04] Spokesman - Turkey - Occupied areas

Nicosia, Aug 24 (CNA) -- The self-styled Turkish Cypriot regime in the Turkish-occupied part of Cyprus cannot survive on its own accord, Cyprus Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou said here today, in the wake of weeks of unrest and protests against the occupation regime and the dire economic circumstances Turkish Cypriots have to face.

"There is only one conclusion one can draw from recent events in the occupied part of Cyprus and that is that this construction, which is attempting to present itself as a state, cannot survive on its own without respirators from Turkey," Papapetrou said, when invited to comment on moves from Ankara's powerful National Security Council to offer assistance to the occupation regime to get back on its feet.
