[03] House Foreign Affairs Committee - German MPs
Nicosia, Sep 19 (CNA) - The delegation of the Germany-Cyprus Friendship
Group in the German Bundestag, which arrived on the island yesterday on a
working visit, met today with the Foreign and European Affairs Committee of
the Cyprus House of Representatives.
During their stay in Cyprus, the German MPs will also meet with senior
officers of parliamentary parties and will visit the ceasefire line in
Nicosia and Dherynia, where they will meet with the respective Mayors,
Lellos Demetriades and Flora Ioannou.

[04] UN Secretary General - Statement
New York, Sep 19 (CNA)-- The UN Secretary General expressed the view today
that a breakthrough on Cyprus would not be reached at this stage of
proximity talks between the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot sides in New
York.
Asked whether there would be a breakthrough on Cyprus here, Kofi Annan
replied, "We are trying, but I can't say we are there yet".
