[01] Cyprus - Illegal immigrants - Meeting
Nicosia, Dec 4 (CNA) - The Cyprus Police together with other government
services will work out a plan aiming at taking measures in order to put an
end to the large number of foreigners turning up on the island's shores,
Interior Minister Christodoulos Christodoulou said after a meeting on the
issue of illegal immigrants.
Christodoulou said it was established that there is in an increase in the
number of illegal immigrants arriving mostly on the Republic's eastern
shores, adding that from November 3 until today some 200 foreigners turned
up in Ayia Napa and Cape Greco, on 11 different occasions.

[02] EU - Turkey - Cyprus question
Brussels, Dec 4 (CNA) - The Cyprus question and Greco-Turkish relations
will be part of the political criteria that will guide the European Union's
(EU) accession partnership with Turkey, after an agreement between the
Union's foreign ministers here today which was also accepted by Ankara.
The agreement was reached after a proposal by the EU French rotating
presidency providing that the political dialogue with Turkey is
incorporated into its accession partnership agreement, a roadmap with
political and economic criteria Ankara has to fulfil in order to join the
15-member bloc.
