    [01] Health Minister - UN session on HIV/AIDS

    Nicosia, Jun 26 (CNA) -- Minister of Health Frixos Savvides is in New York to represent Cyprus at the UN General Assembly Special Session on HIV/AIDS that will focus on human rights implications of the epidemic.

    The Session will bring together government leaders, AIDS activists, experts and private sector partners who will focus on key issues pertaining to the problem. CNA/RM/MM/2001

    [02] Cyprus - Australia - Resolution

    Nicosia, Jun 26 (CNA) -- The Federation of Greek and Greek Cypriot Communities of Australia and New Zealand have expressed support for a solution to the Cyprus problem based on one state with a single sovereignty, one international personality and citizenship and have confirmed their opposition to a Turkish proposal for confederation.

    They also call on the Australian government to put forward a proposal for an in- depth discussion of the Cyprus question at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, to be held in Brisbane in October.
