    Spokesman: We hope the Turkish side will revise its positions

    Nicosia, Feb 18 (CAN) -- Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou has said that the solution of the Cyprus problem cannot be the result of a middle of the road arrangement between two different things, federation and confederation, and stressed that insistence by the Turkish side on two separate states in Cyprus will lead nowhere, adding that the Greek Cypriot side has conveyed this message to foreign mediators involved in the Cyprus peace effort.

    Weather forecast for Cyprus

    Nicosia, Feb 18 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

    On Tuesday (Feb 19) the weather will be fine with some patchy clouds. Winds will be variable, mainly westerly, gentle 3 beaufort and locally 4 beaufort, over slight seas. Temperatures will reach 5 degrees Celsius over the highest peaks of Troodos and 10 degrees along the coast. Maximum temperatures will range from 10 to 20 degrees.

    On Wednesday (Feb 20) the weather will be mainly fine. Winds will prevail westerly, gentle to moderate, 3 to 4 beaufort, over slight to moderate seas. The minimum temperature will range from 5 degrees over the highest peaks of Troodos to 10 degrees along the coast. Maximum temperatures will range from 10 to 20 degrees.

    On Thursday (Feb 21) the weather will be mainly fine but will gradually become cloudy with local showers in the afternoon.

    Showers are also expected on Friday (Feb 22). Temperatures will drop slightly.
