Cyprus Ministers back economic development, increased trade

    by Riana Magidou

Barcelona, Mar 15 (CNA) -- Cypriots ministers, speaking at the European Union extraordinary summit here, pledged Cyprus' support for a knowledge-based and technologically advanced economy in Europe, further economic growth and greater social cohesion.

"Cyprus as a small developed country has nothing to fear from globalisation, on the contrary it will benefit because its activities will reach beyond its limited borders," Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides told a meeting of EU foreign ministers and their counterparts from candidate countries, who gathered here for a two-day meeting.
