Political crisis in Turkey will not affect Cyprus course

    By Nicos Bellos

Brussels, Jul 22 (CNA) -- The political crisis in Turkey will not affect Cyprus course towards the EU because Cyprus accession is determined only by the Copenhagen criteria, President of the European Commission Romano Prodi has said.

Prodi was answering a question after a meeting he had here today with the Greek Foreign Minister George Papandreou, who said that the EU supports the UN Secretary General's efforts to reach a settlement of the Cyprus problem.
