Olgun noted that Denktash, who underwent two surgeries at the Presbyterian University Clinic of Columbia, is not briefed on political news and "is cut off from the rest of the world" on doctors' advice. He said that Denktash is now recovering from the second operation, ''is in good condition and his vital functions are normal.''
