    Foreign Minister sees no change in Annan's positions

    Nicosia, Jan 13 (CNA) -- It is highly unlikely for the UN Secretary General to change his positions on the question of Cyprus as he anticipates the Turkish side to clarify its own views, Foreign Minister Giorgos Iakovou has said.

    The minister also said that the position of the Greek Cypriot side is not affected by the conflicting statements coming from the Turkish and the Turkish Cypriot sides and reiterated President Tassos Papadopoulos' readiness to return to the negotiating table to negotiate on the basis of a peace proposal put forward by Kofi Annan.

    Nicosia, Jan 13 (CNA) -- Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos said here today that he does not intend to reply to a letter UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has sent him, in response to his letter of December 17 asking Annan to invite the two sides in Cyprus to peace talks.
