Cyprus President: Solution should secure real reunification

Nicosia, Oct 3 (CNA) --- The Greek Cypriot side is not willing to sign a solution to the Cyprus problem that would not secure the real reunification of the island, the smooth function of the state, the security, survival and the future of Cyprus and the Greek Cypriots, Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos stressed here yesterday.

He also reiterated the firm and stable aim of the Greek Cypriot side to achieve the soonest possible a functional and viable solution to the Cyprus problem.

Qatar's Nasser Al - Attiyah wins Troodos Rally 2004

Nicosia, Oct 3 (CNA) --- Qatars Nasser Al Attiyah and co-driver Chris Patterson scored an important win today in the 2004 Troodos Rally, the penultimate round of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC).

Over a tough weekends competition in above average temperatures, Al Attiyah managed to keep his slim hopes of a Championship title alive, steering his Subaru Impreza to a final victory ahead of his arch-rival and Championship leader, Khalid Al Qassimi of the UAE, who finished second in his Subaru Impreza.
