    Commission says Cyprus on track for correcting deficit

    Brussels, Dec 22 (CNA) - The European Commission concluded today that Cyprus is on track for correcting the situation of excessive deficit it was found to be in, in July this year, and hence in line with the Council recommendations.

    London, Dec 22 (CNA) - The recognition of the Republic of Cyprus by Ankara ''is a matter for successful negotiations of entry (to the EU) and will be discussed in the negotiations with Turkey,'' Deputy Leader of the House of Commons Phil Woolas has said.
