    United Nations, Mar 18 (CNA) -- The United Nations clarified that no formal Greek Cypriot proposal has been presented for a resumption of talks on the Cyprus issue.

    Commenting on reports, a UN SG spokesperson confirmed that there has been a recent meeting between the Republic's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Andreas Mavroyiannis, and Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Sir Kieran Prendergast.

    Nicosia, Mar 18 (CNA) - The Republic of Cyprus has to inform the European Parliament more about the provisions of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan's plan for a Cyprus settlement, that was rejected by the majority of the Greek Cypriot community at a referendum last April, Vice President of the European Parliament's Group ''Union for Europe of the Nations'' Mogens Camre said today.
