Nicosia, Apr 23 (CNA) - To mark the 90th anniversary of the 1915 Armenian Genocide, the Armenian community's committee in Cyprus to preserve the memory of the genocide is organising a series of events today and tomorrow in Nicosia.

Christofias says Greek Cypriots in pursuit of settlement

Nicosia, Apr 23 (CNA) - Cypriot House of Representatives President Demetris Christofias said today that the Greek Cypriot side continues to pursue a settlement of the Cyprus problem and the reunification of the island, dismissing allegations that the Greek Cypriots have become accommodated in the EU and do not wish for a settlement.

Commenting on the political situation a year after the April 24 referenda on the solution plan proposed by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, which was rejected by the Greek Cypriot community, Christofias said "the time that has passed verifies that the Cyprus people's decision was correct."
