[01] NICOSIA TRAFFIC PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The government of Cyprus aims to give solutions to the chronic traffic
problem in the country.
To this end, a steering committee has been set up to help bring some
major changes, especially to public transport in the capital Nicosia.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Works, Makis
Constantinides, has said that Nicosias main bus terminal, located at
the Solomou Square, will be revamped by next summer.
Constantinides told journalists that the green light had been given to
revamp Solomou Square, to include new bus lanes and improved bus
shelters.
[02] CYPRUS - EU 2008 SCIENCE OLYMPIAD
Cyprus will host the 6th European Union Science Olympiad (EUSO).
The EUSO, a science competition for sixteen-year-old EU students, will
be held this year in Nicosia between 11 - 17 May.
Contestants will have to prove their knowledge in physics, chemistry
and biology.
