Cyprus` banking system continues to be robust and safe, according to a Central Bank press release, regarding the international financing crisis.

The Central Bank notes in its press release that capital competence is still high and its cash flow very satisfactory.

Local banks, it adds, are not exposed to high-risk products, which created serious problems to a number of financing institutions worldwide.

``The Central Bank of Cyprus, as all central banks, continues to closely monitor international developments, mainly in relation to possible consequences on the local banking system and the economy in general,`` it assures.
