[01] GAROYIAN CYPRUS TURKEYTurkey has to decide whether it wishes a solution to the Cyprus problem or not, in order that the efforts for an agreement in the direct negotiations between Cyprus President Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat to be fruitful, House President Marios Garoyian has said.Addressing an event organized by the occupied village of Kontea, Garoyian said that it seems that Turkey does not wish a solution, since it insists on a confederation state solution. As he said, without Turkeys will for a solution to the Cyprus problem, based on the UN relevant resolutions, the High Level Agreements and the international and European law, the United Nations will fail again. Garoyian called on the United Nations to make sure not to add another one failure in their account and to turn their efforts towards Ankara, dealing with determination with Turkeys intransigent stance and divisive plans. [02] EUROSTAT - DG - CYPRUSDirector-General of Eurostat, Walter Radermacher met Minister of Finance Charilaos Stavraki and state officials competent on economic issues, during his one-day visit in Cyprus, on Monday.According to announcement, issued today by Statistical Service of Cyprus, Radermacher was informed about the statistical system of Cyprus, and the forthcoming challenges of conducting a census of agriculture in 2010 and a population census in 2011. Radermacher met with the Minister of Finance, the Director General of the Ministry of Finance and officials from the Central Bank of Cyprus, while he had contacts with the Director and senior management of the Statistical Service of Cyprus.
