[01] Minister pledges to confront vested interests
Justice and Public Order Minister Ionas Nicolaou has pledged that the
government will clash with vested interests in order to bring to justice
those responsible for the country's economic woes.
He was speaking, on Sunday, during an event commemorating October 28,
1940 when Greek Prime Minister Ioannis Metaxas said "no" to Mussolini's
demand to allow Italian troops to enter Greece.
Nicolaou further stressed that the government is doing its utmost so
that the country exits the crisis as soon as possible.
[02] Energy Minister in Beijing on a working visit
Minister of Energy Giorgos Lakkotrypis is paying Beijing a three-day
working visit, between October 28 and 30.
Lakkotrypis is accompanied by a large group of entrepreneurs from the
Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).
He is scheduled to have meetings with senior officials from the Chinese
government, and will also address a forum organised by the Ministry
of Energy, the CCCI and the Chinese Council for the promotion of
international trade.
