[01] Cyprus University of Technology receives Investors in People
distinction
The Cyprus University of Technology has achieved the certification of
its management services with the Investors in People business excellence
standard.
This certification is the only internationally recognised quality standard
in the sector of management and the development of human resources,
which contributes to continuous improvement through the implementation
of best practices.
According to a press release, the significance of the certification is
enhanced by the fact that the Cyprus University of Technology is the
first public organisation and the first public university in Cyprus and
Greece to receive this distinction.
[02] Euro area inflation estimated at 2.2% in December
Euro area annual inflation is expected to be 2.2% in December 2012,
the same as in November, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat,
the statistical office of the European Union.
A press release issued today says that looking at the main components
of euro area inflation, energy (5.2% compared with 5.7% in November) is
expected to have the highest annual rate in December, followed by food,
alcohol & tobacco (3.1% compared with 3.0% in November), services (1.8%,
compared with 1.6% in November) and non-energy industrial goods (1.1%,
stable compared with November).
The final figures for the inflation rate in the EU, the Eurozone and
the Member States will be published on 16 January.
