of this attempt.
[02] UNSG and Turkish Foreign Minister discuss Cyprus problem
The Cyprus problem was among the issues UN Secretary General Ban Ki moon
discussed on Thursday in Davos, Switzerland, with the Foreign Minister
of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.
According to a UN Secretary General spokesperson, "the Secretary-General
reiterated his expectation that full-fledged negotiations to find a
comprehensive settlement in Cyprus would resume at the earliest possible
opportunity."
Ban and Davituglou also exchanged views on the crisis in Syria and
prospects for a political settlement. The Secretary-General once again
expressed his appreciation for Turkey's generous hosting of Syrian
