[01] CMP carries out excavations for possible burial sites
Committee on Missing Persons (CMP) in Cyprus carries out since Tuesday
excavations at possible burial sites.
The sites are situated within a fenced military area in Cyprus' Turkish
occupied areas, Aristos Aristotelous, the Greek Cypriot member of the
Committee has told CNA.
[02] Fitch downgrades Cyprus' government bonds
Fitch Ratings has downgraded the Republic of Cyprus` government bonds to
`B` with a negative outlook.
In a press release the agency says that the downgrade of Cyprus`
sovereign ratings partially reflects the agency`s view that the size of
the government support to the banking sector is likely to be higher than
previous Fitch estimates, which mainly focused on the three largest banks
[03] Team of experts to meet Troika in Brussels
The Members of the Independent Committee on the future of the Cypriot
banking sector will have a meeting with Troika representatives.
The meeting will take place in mid-February, in Brussels.
[04] FM participates in EU - CELAC Summit
Foreign Minister Erato Kozakou Marcoullis has participated in the Summit
of the EU and the Community of Latin America and Caribbean States (CELAC)
which took place in Santiago, Chile on January 25th.
According to an official announcement Marcoullis took part in the
ministerial meeting of CELAC which was attended by the Foreign Ministers
of the EU member states, the Latin American states and the Caribbean
states.
The ministerial meeting was presided over by Chilean Minister of Foreign
Affairs Alfredo Moreno and High Representative of the Union for Foreign
Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton
