Foreign Affairs Minister Ioannis Kassoulides will visit Athens within
the next few days, at the invitation of his Greek counterpart Dimitris
Avramopoulos.
Kassoulides held a meeting on Friday with Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus,
Vasilis Papaioannou. An official press release said that the Minister
assured the Ambassador of Greece that Cyprus looks forward to maintaining
the excellent relations between Greece and Cyprus and to further deepening
bilateral cooperation.
On his part, Papaioannou expressed Greece's full support to Cyprus'
efforts to achieve the objectives of its foreign policy and wished the

[02] FinMin to propose new formula to Eurogroup on laundering evaluation
New Finance Minister Michalis Sarris will propose a new formula to his
Eurozone counterparts in Brussels concerning the assessment of Cyprus'
legal framework against money laundering. Sarris travelled to Brussels
Saturday to attend Monday's Eurogroup meeting.
On Sunday, the newly-appointed Finance Minister will have a series of
separate meetings at the Belgian capital, with his German counterpart
Wolfgang Schäuble and high-ranking European Commission and Eurozone
officials.
In statements to the Cyprus News Agency, Sarris said he will propose
the conduct of an evaluation under the Central Bank of Cyprus, with the
involvement of Moneyval, the Council of Europe Committee of Experts on
the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of
Terrorism. The process will be assisted by private experts, if necessary,
he added.
